On friends and blogs

Today, like most days, I find myself surrounded by baby "necessities" and speaking a healthy mix of gibberish and English... Sometimes I even like to throw some German into the mix. It is all to help my little girl learn and to keep her entertained, but on days like today I find myself craving a conversation with a partner who can fully understand and communicate effectively back to me. Being a mom is the most wonderful thing I have decided to take on, but it's also just boring sometimes. I wrestled with that feeling at first and felt like maybe I was a defective parent. Then I realized that it's ok, and that there are times when both Em and I need our own space. So earlier today while she was napping I caught up on my favorite blogs by two of my good friends. One is a beautiful and heartfelt photo project by my best friend ( jenniferstongephoto.wordpress.com ) and the other is a lifestyle/personal blog by my fellow momma Natalie ( misadventuresfour.blogspot.com ).

Reading both gave me peace of mind, and helped to remind me that there are others out there who can relate. I appreciate these people who write down their day to day lives. I find comfort and gain more understanding into who they are and where they are going. It also gives me an opportunity for introspection. I can see my own thoughts, fears, and joys reflected in theirs and get a better understanding of my own life. Thank you ladies, your friendship and words in any form are much appreciated.

  1. Morgan! Yay! This is exactly why I wanted to start a blog! I can't even count the times that reading another's personal experience has brought me peace.
